The Electronic Conveyancing (Adoption of National Law) Act 2012 (the Act) was passed by the NSW Parliament on 14 November 2012.
The Act applies the Electronic Conveyancing National Law 2012 (the Law) as a law in NSW. The Act, and the Electronic Conveyancing National Law, will commence shortly. This means that there will be a sound statutory basis for documents in electronic form to be electronically lodged and processed under NSW’s land titles legislation.
The other participating jurisdictions can now move towards passing their own legislation by either applying the NSW law or enacting mirror legislation to allow electronic conveyancing to take place in those jurisdictions.
