Land and Property Information (LPI) provides easy online access to many of the land titling records of New South Wales (NSW) through LPI’s approved information brokers and free indexes through the LPI Online portal. Over the counter
The number of documents delivered over the counter our LPI Queens Square office is decreasing as more documents become available electronically.
Copies of documents available over the counter at LPI Queens Square office include title searches, images of dealings, plans and other documents. Public terminals at Queens Square provide access to:
- a number of free searches including street address inquiry, prior title, lots created searches
- the Historical Land Records Viewer (HLRV)
- Old Form Torrens title folio images.
Document request service
Our Document Request Service provides access to Old System records not yet digitised. If a customer selects a record not yet available online, the record is manually scanned and electronically delivered to the customer, generally within a 4 hour time frame, Monday to Friday.The record is then available for immediate online delivery to future customers. This service is available for Old System records and is delivered through LPI’s approved information brokers.
Staff assisted searches
Searches can be conducted for customers by staff at LPI's Sydney office for a commercial fee. Time based service fees apply in addition to standard document copy rates. Fees are payable by cash, cheque or credit card.
Official Searches prepared by LPI are legal documents that can be used in a court of law as evidence, unlike a search prepared by a commercial searching company or information broker. Search requests can be lodged:

- in person, ground floor at LPI Queens Square
Central Register of Restriction (CRR)
The CRR is a centralised database recording potential and actual use of land by government agencies and utilities. LPI maintains the CRR on behalf of participating organisations, but responsibility for the currency and accuracy of the information held on the CRR remains with those organisations. Online access to the CRR is available through LPI's approved information brokers.
