Land and Property Information (LPI) can help you obtain information from a range of organisations or authorities that may have an interest in a property. Inquiries can be made about:
- plans by various agencies, authorities and utilities that could impact on or restrict use of the property
- Local Council certificates under s149(2) of the Environmental Assessment and Planning Act 1979
- utility matters such as special meter readings and sewer diagrams.
Inquiries are usually made by buyers or sellers of property in connection with contracts for sale of land. Vendors must provide copies of various documents such as council certificates with a contract and disclose whether any government interests exist in the land.
Some authorities record restrictions in LPI's Central Register of Restrictions (CRR) and LPI can provide a report on restrictions recorded in the CRR. With other authorities, LPI will deliver your inquiry to them, within one business day, and the authorities will respond direct to you.
