New SCIMS Online Release
After 11 years and 1,483,500 enquiries LPI has replaced SCIMS Online with a new version. The new SCIMS Online integrates all data sets related to the Survey Control Network in one website. Access to the data will be via a digital mapping application, based on the current SIX Viewer - Survey Mark Channel. This allows for the graphical display of imagery, cadastre and survey marks and the digital selection of survey marks for the download of geodetic, metadata and Locality Sketch Plans. The new version also incorporates an e-commerce function for the purchase of SCIMS data.
Access
Access to this version is only available through the Spatial Information Exchange – Survey Services Portal (SIX-SSP). Access to the SIX-SSP is based on an individual user account i.e. any individual required to use SCIMS should have access to the SIX-SSP.

SCIMS Online information
SCIMS contains coordinates and related information for survey marks established under the direction of the Surveyor General and is maintained for the purposes of cadastral boundary definition, engineering surveys, mapping and a variety of other spatial applications.
The datum used for the horizontal position of survey marks is the Geocentric Datum of Australia 1994 (GDA94) at ICSM website. Coordinates are provided as easting and northing values on the Map Grid of Australia (MGA) projection or as latitude and longitude (geographic).
Where available, heights of survey marks relate to the Australian Height Datum 1971 (AHD71).
Accuracy statements (class and order) are assigned to each position and height. Other related information includes details of mark types, eccentric / witness marks and trig stations.
Results of all searches may be viewed on screen, printed or downloaded in a number of common file formats.
